In this paper, commissioned by CAPI, the author explains how the agricultural sector will inevitably be one of the first sectors to be hit, and to be hit hardest by the impacts of a changing climate. For example, given the increasing economic challenges for Canadian farmers, it will be important that society help pay for the climate change mitigation and other ecosystem services that will come with their food.
